# Advanced

> Override the transcriber, set call limits and end call phrases, enable recording, transfer callers to a human, raise support tickets, and attach knowledge documents.

The **Advanced** tab holds call controls and the actions your assistant can take during a conversation. Every field is optional.

![Advanced tab](https://mintcdn.com/oratoinc/4kqJqYTkP_RSjHT3/images/app/assistant-advanced.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=4kqJqYTkP_RSjHT3\&q=85\&s=a04df77bb265168e00d7135146dc11ce)

## Transcriber

Orato picks the speech-to-text model automatically from your [languages](/assistants/voice-and-language#languages). The default for English is **Flux English (Recommended)**.

Override it only if you need a specific model. Click **Change**, then choose:

| Provider | Models |
| - | - |
| **Deepgram** | Flux English (Recommended), Flux Multilingual |
| **Sarvam AI** | Saaras v4 Realtime, Saaras v3 |

Click **Reset to recommended** to go back to automatic selection.

> [!TIP]
>
> Use **Sarvam AI** for Hindi and Indian regional languages, and **Flux Multilingual** when callers mix languages.

## Call limits

| Field | Default | What it does |
| - | - | - |
| **Max Duration (s)** | 300 | Longest a single call can last, in seconds |
| **Silence Timeout (s)** | 30 | How long the assistant waits in silence before ending the call |
| **Response Delay (s)** | 0.0 | Extra pause before the assistant replies |

> [!NOTE]
>
> Raise **Max Duration** for support or consultation calls that run longer than five minutes. Keep it lower for quick qualification calls to control cost.

## End call phrases

The assistant hangs up if the caller says one of these phrases. Type a phrase and press **Enter** to add it, for example `bye`, `not interested`, or `don't call me again`.

## Enable recording

On by default. Turn it off if you don't want calls recorded.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Recording rules differ by country. Make sure you inform callers and follow the laws that apply to you.

## Transfer to Human

Enter a phone number in E.164 format, such as `+14155552671`. When the caller asks for a human, the assistant bridges the call to this number.

Add a line to your instructions so the hand-off sounds natural:

```text theme={null}
If the caller asks for a person or you cannot help after two tries,
say "Let me connect you with someone from our team" and transfer the call.
```

> [!WARNING]
>
> Make sure the transfer number is staffed during calling hours. A transfer to an unanswered line is a poor experience for the caller.

## Ticketing integration

When a caller reports an issue, the assistant raises a ticket in the tool you select here, such as Zoho Desk or Zendesk. Connect the tool on the [Integrations](/integrations/ticketing) page first; until then the field shows **No integrations connected yet**.

## Knowledge documents

Choose documents from your [knowledge base](/knowledge-base) for this assistant to search during calls and widget chats. Only documents with a ready status appear. Upload files or import websites under **Knowledge Base** first.

> [!TIP]
>
> You can also refer to tools and variables in your instructions with the `@` shortcut on the [Prompt](/assistants/prompt#instructions) tab.

## Next steps

> **[Knowledge base](/knowledge-base)**
>
> Upload the documents your assistant needs.

> **[Integrations](/integrations/overview)**
>
> Connect ticketing and other tools.
